Pump It Up, Oberlin!
Is your gas furnace aging? Do you wish you had air conditioning in the summer? POWER has partnered with the Green Edge Fund to offer its first Pump It Up, Oberlin! Heat Pump Giveaway. Two lucky entrants will be chosen to receive $5,000, paid directly to their HVAC contractor, toward the cost of switching out a fossil-fuel heating system and replacing it with a high-efficiency electric heat pump.
Heat pumps are the most efficient way to heat and cool a home and are widely used around the world, even in very cold climates like Norway. Better still, a single unit provides both heating and cooling, which is essential as temperatures climb higher in the summer.
Applying is simple: The property must be in the Oberlin Municipal Light and Power System (OMLPS) service area and currently use a fossil-fuel based heating system (see full rules here). The short application below must be accompanied by a quote from a licensed HVAC contractor that is less than 60 days old. Submissions will be accepted until April 30 at 11:59PM, and the winners will be chosen by May 15th, 2025.
